CW 118 Weigh-In Results: Middleweight Championship Set; 1 Fighter Heavy

On Thursday morning, Cage Warriors Fighting Championship held the weigh-ins for its second of three back-to-back events, CW 118.

In the main event, Nathias Frederick (8-2-1) will attempt to defend his middleweight championship for the first time. “Notorious” won the title by finishing James Webb at the tail end of the fourth round at CW 111. His first shot at Webb’s belt ended by majority draw following a 25-minute back-and-forth battle at CW 106. Frederick had no issues in making the championship weight as he recorded 183.8 pounds on the scale.

Jamie Richardson (9-5) will enter his first championship bout under the CW banner, and will do so riding a three-fight winning streak. In his latest cage appearance, “Young Gun” upended Matthew Bonner at CW 113 back in March. On the scales, Richardson hit 183.8 pounds.

The event saw a bit of drama when Adam Ventre missed weight by 6.9 pounds. The fighter took to Twitter to apologize, explaining that it simply “wasn’t happening today.” Ventre also said that the fight is going ahead as scheduled, as Declan McAleenan has accepted to compete despite Ventre missing weight.

The CW 118 card will air live on UFC Fight Pass on Friday at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.
