On Friday morning, Cage Warriors Fighting Championship held the weigh-ins for its upcoming third and final part of “The Trilogy Strikes Back” series.
In the main event of
CW 119, Morgan
Charriere (15-7-1) will get a second chance to win the vacant
featherweight belt. The French fighter should have headlined CW
113, but the COVID-19 outbreak forced the promotion to change its
plans. In September, “The Last Pirate” tested positive for COVID-19
before his title clash at CW 116. Today, Charriere looked good as
he hit the scales at 143.9 pounds.
England’s own Perry Goodwin (10-7) will lock horns with Charriere. “The Predator” earned his title shot following back-to-back victories over Sameer Alekozai and Steve Aimable. The scales marked 145 pounds for Goodwin.
The co-main event will feature a lightweight championship affair between divisional kingpin Jack Grant and CW newcomer Agy Sardari. Both fighters had no issues in making the championship weight as Grant hit the scales at 154.4 pounds and “The Wolverine” weighed in at 154.2 pounds.
Shortly before the weigh-ins, the event lost a couple of fights after Dean Trueman didn’t pass his medical exams for his bout with Yassine Belhadj. Additionally, Kevin Mullen has been deemed unable to compete against Bellator MMA vet Kent Kauppinen due to illness.
The CW 119 card will air live on UFC Fight Pass at 1:30 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT on Saturday.
