The situation is almost back to normal in the Old Continent, as Cage Warriors Fighting Championship has just announced its return for September.
The British promotion revealed that it would hold a tripleheader of events in September. CW 114, CW 115, and CW 116 will go down in the history books as “The Trilogy,” and they will take place on September 24, 25 and 26, respectively. Cage Warriors also announced that multiple champions would put their belts on the line across the weekend.
“We’ve pulled off big events before, but this is something else entirely,” said an excited Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan. “All our biggest names across one weekend. We’re leaving no stone unturned. It’s taken a lot of planning, but we’re ready to get back on the road. We’re back to doing what we do best, and that’s showcasing Europe’s best talent and providing the proven pathway to the top.”
Some of the many names that Cage Warriors announced would be competing include Morgan Charriere, Rhys McKee, Adam Proctor, and Paddy Pimblett among several others.
Cage Warriors’ previous event, CW 113, took place behind closed doors at the Manchester BEC Arena during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in March. In the main event, Ultimate Fighting Championship fighters Darren Stewart (11-5) and Bartosz Fabinski (15-3) locked horns in a 185-pound contest. The UFC allowed this match since both contenders should have fought on the scrapped UFC London card, but with different opponents. The CW 113 main card itself suffered plenty of changes as many fighters were unable to fly in the United Kingdom due to the travel bans across Europe.
The Trilogy will go down behind closed doors at the BEC Arena in Manchester, and the events will air on UFC Fight Pass.
