Chad Laprise will lock horns with Francisco Trinaldo when the UFC makes its first trip to Saskatchewan on Aug. 23.
Laprise, who defeated Olivier Aubin-Mercier to win “The Ultimate Fighter: Nations,” is 3-0 in the Octagon overall. In addition to besting Aubin-Mercier, the 28-year-old Canadian has also garnered victories against Yosdenis Cedeno and Bryan Barberena in the UFC. “The Disciple” owns a 10-0 career professional mark.
Trinaldo enters the bout on a three-fight winning streak. The 36-year-old Brazilian last appeared at UFC Fight Night “Condit vs. Alves,” where he captured a split-decision triumph against Norman Parke. “Massaranduba” is 7-3 in the UFC since making his promotional debut in 2012.
