A welterweight clash pitting Chad Laprise against Dhiego Lima has been booked for UFC 231.
Promotion officials recently confirmed the pairing. UFC 231 takes place at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Dec. 8. A headliner for the card has not been announced by the UFC, though a featherweight title tilt between Max Holloway and Brian Ortega is rumored to be one of the main attractions.
Laprise, 32, recently saw a three-fight winning streak come to an end when he suffered a first-round knockout loss to Vicente Luque at UFC Fight Night 129 on May 19. “The Ultimate Fighter: Nations” winner is 6-3 during his promotional tenure and 13-3 as a professional overall.
A finalist on “TUF 19” and “TUF 25,” Lima enters the contest on a three-fight skid, including back-to-back defeats to Yushin Okami and Jesse Taylor in the Octagon. The 29-year-old Brazilian is just 1-5 over the course of two separate UFC stints.
