Chris Fishgold Pulls Out of UFC on ESPN 7 Scrap Against Billy Quarantillo

By Cole Shelton Nov 27, 2019

Chris Fishgold will not be welcoming Billy Quarantillo to the Octagon after all.

Fishgold announced he has been forced out of his UFC on ESPN 7 matchup on a now-expired Instagram story that was captured by earlier this week.

“Unfortunately, I won’t be fighting on UFC Washington next week. Fingers crossed [I’ll] be back fighting soon,” Fishgold wrote.

Fishgold is 1-2 inside the Octagon, with a TKO loss to Calvin Kattar and a submission loss to Makwan Amirkhani sandwiched around a submission triumph over Daniel Teymur. The former Cage Warriors lightweight champion did not give a reason as to why he he had to pull out of his bout.

Quarantillo, meanwhile, is on a five-fight winning streak and earned a Ultimate Fighting Championship contract after a TKO win over Kamuela Kirk on the Contender Series this summer. It is unclear if Quarantillo will remain on the card.

UFC on ESPN 7 goes down in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 7 and is headlined by a heavyweight scrap between Alistair Overeem and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
