ESPN was first to report the 205-pound booking. Both Weidman and Reyes have verbally agreed to the contest, and contracts are expected to be signed soon. Weidman vs. Reyes will serve as the headliner for the event, which takes place at the TD Garden.

A former middleweight champion, Weidman has lost four of his last five Octagon appearances. HIs only victory during that stretch came via third-round submission against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC on Fox 25. In his last outing, “The All-American” suffered a knockout loss to Ronaldo Souza at UFC 230.

Reyes, meanwhile, is undefeated in 11 professional bouts — including five in the UFC. After finishing eight of his first nine opponents inside of a round, “The Devastator” has gone the distance in consecutive victories against Ovince St. Preux and Volkan Oezdemir.
