Riddell notably has a knockout win over Kenan Song, who is coming off a victory over Derrick Krantz at UFC Fight Night 157. Although “Quake” has been fighting at welterweight, the New Zealander told the New Zealand Herald that he will be making the move to lightweight.
"I'm going to take the lightweights by storm, and then when I'm done with them I'll move up. "It's a good division for me to be in,” he said. “It’s deep, there's a lot of talented fighters; if you want a division to prove you're the best fighter in the world in, that's the one.”
Riddell’s opponent for UFC 243 is currently unknown. UFC 243 takes place at Marvel Stadium and will see Adesanya square off against Robert Whittaker for the undisputed 185-pound belt in the evening’s main event.
