Columbus to Host UFC Event in March for First Time in Over 10 Years

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced its return to Ohio for the first time in years.

The promotion announced on Thursday that it would return to Columbus, Ohio, for a Fight Night event at the Nationwide Arena on March 28. No bouts have been announced for the event yet, although several fighters including current heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic, former bantamweight king Cody Garbrandt, former flyweight title challenger Jessica Eye and all-action welterweight Matt Brown are from the Buckeye State.

The last time the Las Vegas-based organization travelled to Ohio came at UFC 203, when Miocic defended his heavyweight strap against Alistair Overeem in 2016 in his home town of Cleveland. The last UFC card in Columbus goes all the way back to UFC 96 in 2009, when Quinton Jackson faced off against Keith Jardine.

Tickets are slated to go on sale on Jan. 31, while members of Fight Club should be able to purchase them two days earlier on Jan. 29.
