Combate Americas Returns to San Antonio with Interim Bantamweight Title Bout on March 27

An interim bantamweight title clash between Andre Morera and Victor Hugo Madrigal will serve as as the main event when Combate Americas returns to San Antonio, Texas, on March 27.

The promotion announced the pairing on Monday. Combate Americas “San Antonio” takes place at Freeman Coliseum and will also feature a lightweight showdown pitting Angel Cruz against Raymond Guzman. The card will air on AXS TV at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

A native of San Pedro, Costa Rica, Barquero is coming off a third-round submission triumph over Eduardo Alvarado Osuna in his Combate Americas debut on Nov. 8. The 24-year-old owns a 6-2 career mark that also includes appearances in Cage Fury Fighting Championships and Pancrase.

Mexico’s Madrigal has split four bouts in Combate Americas. Most recently, he suffered a first-round knockout loss against Marcelo Rojo last September. Madrigal is 8-3 over the course of his professional career.
