Combate Americas Reveals Brackets for ‘Copa Combate’ Lightweight Tournament



The matchups are set for Combate Americas upcoming lightweight tournament.

The promotion on Monday revealed for the pairings for the one-night, eight-man bracket, which will award a $100,000 prize to the winner.

On one side of the draw, Humberto Bandenay will square off against Hugo Prada, while Jose Luis Verdugo will meet Lucas Corbage. The winners of those fights will square off in one semifinal.

Meanwhile, Yoel Jimenez will face Erick Gonzalez and Kevin Koldobsky will lock horns with Esteban Ribovics on the other half of the bracket, with the winners meeting in the other semifinal. Each quarterfinal bout will consist of one five-minute round. Semifinal and final bouts will be three five-minute rounds.

Two other contests were announced for Friday’s card: Renzo Mendez vs. Juan Pablo Gonzalez at featherweight and Sandra Lavado vs. Lina Franco Rodriguez at strawweight.

“Copa Combate” takes place at Coliseo Manuel Bonilla in Lima, Peru, on Friday. The card airs in Spanish on Univision (12 a.m. ET/11 p.m. CT) and on TUDN USA (12 a.m. ET/ 9 p.m. PT) and in English on Dazn at 9p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
