The UFC 244 main event between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal for the “BMF” belt was anti-climactic to say the least as the fight was called off at the end of the third-round due to a cut.

Masvidal was deemed the inaugural “BMF” champion following the TKO victory, but was unhappy with the way the fight played out, insisting he wanted to run the fight back as soon as possible.

UFC President Dana White agreed that the doctor’s stoppage was probably the right call as the cut got worse as the fight went on. However, Diaz’s former foe in Conor McGregor blasted the fighter’s cut man and believes he “robbed” the fans as a result of not addressing the cut early.

McGregor was responding to a post from the UFC’s doctor, Greg Hsu, who previously posted a video of him with Diaz after the UFC 244 main event:

“Excellent job Greg. Robbed of a classic there we were. Cutmen in the corner must be more assertive when a fighter must stay still. Between rounds 1 and 2 a crucial moment of repair was missed due to movement. Either way, solid fighting and onto the next… Me.”
