"Today, I am purchasing myself, €1 million euro worth of personal protective equipment to be deployed to all of the fighting hospitals in the Leinster region," McGregor texted to Donohoe. "Our most affected region, to this date.
"Where would we be without these brave men and women, I do not know. May God bless over them and keep them safe."
Thank you sincerely for your message, Minister Paschal Donohoe.

As of Wednesday, Ireland had more than 1,500 cases and nine deaths due to coronavirus. McGregor’s donation comes on the heels of a video statement he released Tuesday in which he lobbied for a “lockdown united” against the pandemic.
“We have the advantage here in that we can see this coming,” McGregor said in the video. “We can see this coming. But if we do not act on our advantage, we cannot expect different results. We are not adhering to social distancing, at least not to the extent required to halt exponential growth…Ireland, we’ve got this. Not only do we have the formula, we have it ahead of time. Let’s go, Ireland. Let’s go, rest of the world. Lock down united. Together we stand. God bless us all.”
