Conor McGregor Opens as Favorite in Potential Bouts vs. Tony Ferguson, Nate Diaz

Conor McGregor’s next move remains unclear, but the remaining lightweight champion would be a betting favorite against two possible UFC opponents.

According to initial odds released by Bovada , McGregor would be a slight favorite (-165) against current interim 155-pound king Tony Ferguson, who is at +135. Ferguson defeated Kevin Lee via third-round submission to claim interim gold at UFC 216 and is currently riding a 10-fight winning streak.

Meanwhile, McGregor is a bigger favorite (-250) against Nate Diaz (+200). The rivals split a pair of bouts at welterweight in 2016, with Diaz winning via second-round submission at UFC 196 and McGregor taking a majority decision at UFC 202. The Stockton, Calif., native hasn’t returned to the Octagon since UFC 202.

All the aforementioned odds are subject to change over time, and either bout must occur by July 15, 2018 for the odds to be valid.

McGregor hasn’t competed for the Las Vegas-based promotion since winning the lightweight crown against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 last November. His last outing come in the boxing ring, as he was stopped by Floyd Mayweather via 10th round TKO on Aug. 26. UFC President Dana White recently told the Wall Street Journal that he expects the Irishman to return to the Octagon before the conclusion of 2017.
