Eventually, you knew Conor McGregor was going to respond to the circumstances that led to a new UFC 223 main event — it was just a matter of how.

“These fools pull out more times than I do with my d—k,” McGregor wrote on Twitter.
These fools pull out more times than I do with my dick.

McGregor’s comment is in reference to the fact that Ferguson vs. Nurmagomedov has been booked on four different occasions, and each time one of the fighters has been forced to pull out of the contest.
While the SBG Ireland representative recently offered to step in on short notice against Frankie Edgar at UFC 222 after a Max Holloway injury, Dana White said bringing in McGregor wasn't even considered this time around.
"I don't think Conor McGregor could make the weight on six days' notice. That's a tough weight cut for him," White told ESPN.com. "And Conor is not the guy I want to throw in as a late replacement fighter. He's a guy I want to make a fight with and have the right amount of time to promote the fight.
"I think Conor could return in September, and it could be against one of these guys.”
For now, McGregor remains the lightweight champion, but he hasn’t defended the belt he won it with a victory over Eddie Alvarez in November 2016. White claimed that the Holloway-Nurmagomedov winner would be the “official” lightweight champion.
