Sean Woodson is set to make the walk to the Octagon for the first time opposite Kyle Bochniak at UFC on ESPN 6 on Friday in Boston.

Although Bochniak is on a two-fight losing streak, this was the type of opponent Woodson wanted due to his style and his name value.

“This is the type of guy I wanted. I wanted an exciting matchup,” Woodson said to Sherdog.com. “Like I wanted someone who just lays on people and gets decision wins. He really goes for it, I feel like he may grapple but he is a gamer. I have been a fan of his style. I’m extremely happy this is my debut.”

While he is happy with the matchup, Woodson knows Bochniak will be a tough opponent. However, he is confident his striking will be too much and he will finish Bochniak.

“I’m very confident I will be able to be the first one to finish him,” he explained. "Not because of my power but because of my precise striking. I pick my shots and will be able to place some key shots that will put him away. It won’t be in the first but in the second or third.”

If he does just that, Woodson believes it should put him up there in the featherweight ranks.

“A win will get some eyes on me. I don’t play him down on a losing streak, he is coming hungry as he doesn’t want to lose three in a row. A win doesn’t just get eyes on me, but I feel like if I finish him, that will be a statement.”
