Jimi Manuwa has been elevated to main event status in his home of London, England.
Manuwa, 36, returned from a 13-month absence at UFC 204 in Manchester, knocking out Ovince St. Preux in the second round. When UFC 208 was scheduled for Jan. 21 in Anaheim, Calif., “The Poster Boy” was attached to a contest with Glover Teixeira, but when the card was rescheduled, Texieira was rebooked against Jared Cannonier on Feb. 11, while Manuwa drew the new bout with Anderson.
In May, Anderson suffered his second career loss, dropping a split decision to MMA legend “Shogun” Mauricio Rua at UFC 198 in Curitiba, Brazil. “Beastin' 25/8” bounced back in December, knocking out Sean O'Connell in the second round at UFC Fight Night 102 in Albany, N.Y.
