Cris Cyborg Wants Megan Anderson-Holly Holm Winner Before Super Fight with Amanda Nunes

Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s featherweight champion Cristiane Justino (better known as Cris Cyborg) is eyeing one more fight before she challenges current UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes.

Cyborg, who is undoubtedly the best women’s pound-for-pound fighter on the planet, is interested in pursuing a career in boxing. But before she swaps the Octagon for the boxing ring, she has two more fights pencilled in, including the winner of Megan Anderson and Holly Holm and then a super fight against bantamweight champion Nunes.

At UFC 225, which takes place on June 9, former Invicta Fighting Championships featherweight champion Megan Anderson makes her UFC debut against former bantamweight champion Holly Holm. Anderson was scheduled to take on Cyborg last year, but personal issues meant the fight never came to fruition. Holm met Cyborg last December to become the first fighter since 2008 to take Cyborg to a decision.

Cyborg appeared on Monday’s episode of “The MMA Hour” and told host Ariel Helwani that she wants to keep busy by defending her title against the winner of Anderson vs. Holm before she takes on Nunes.

“I don’t want to wait. I want to fight and I think this fight Megan Anderson and Holly, they’re already making plans for me and Holly rematch. Because they just took [Alistair] Overeem off the pay-per-view, put him on the preliminaries, and they put Megan Anderson and Holly, the first fight on the PPV with Megan. And I think Dana White wants to get prepared for me and Holly to have a rematch. I’m not going to wait for Amanda from her injury, I’d like to fight who’s going to win the next fight of Holly and Megan, and then it can be the last fight on my contract with Amanda. She can take all the time she needs.”
