Dan Hardy To Headline The First Cagewarriors Quest Show
Press Release Apr 8, 2005
Dan Hardy To Headline The First “Cagewarriors Quest” Show Friday
the 8th April will see the first extension of the Cagewarriors
Fighting Championship brand, as the CWFC will debut its new
“Semi-Pro” division at the Sheffield Octagon Centre. Entitled
“Cagewarriors Quest” this show features a main event (under pro MMA
rules) between the dynamic Roughhouse gym striker Dan Hardy and the experienced
veteran Andy Walker from
Poole Jiu Jitsu.
Dan Hardy hails from Nottingham, England and has wowed fans at previous Cagewarriors events in Sheffield with some impressive performances that saw him emerge with 3 wins in MMA and Cage Kickboxing competition, with wins over local kickboxer Ressa Moradi and wins over 2 tough north east fighters in Andy Melia and Arran Barrow in MMA rules.
Hardy who trained with the American Top Team late in 2004 has
continued his winning ways under MMA rules when he avenged his only
domestic MMA loss when he defeated Lee Doski at the Ultimate Fight Club
show in January. Since then Hardy who is a teammate of Paul
“Semtex” Daley has issued numerous challenges to the rest of the
UK’s welterweight elite in order to prove that he is one of the top
fighters in this division and he will relish this chance to improve
his standing in this red hot division.
Andy Walker on the other hand is a four time Cagewarriors veteran who participated in the inaugural Cagewarriors show in 2002. Walker has a reputation for taking on the very best in his division and whose record is very misleading as a result. Walker like Hardy has fought Paul Jenkins as well as the former Cage Rage Welterweight Champion Ronaldo Campos, the Extreme Force veteran James Schivo (French Top Team) and only last week took on the Cage Rage, KOTC and Shootboxing Japan veteran Jess Liaduin.
Walker with his submission background took on and defeated Alex de Sousza via Judges decision at Cage Rage 10 and will be looking to test Hardy’s submission defence in what should be an intriguing clash of styles on an action packed Friday night in Sheffield, which will contain the usual fun filled frolics of previous Cagewarriors shows alongside some hard-hitting fight action which will appeal to the hardcore and casual fan alike.
