Dana White Comments on Alleged Sexual Assault Complaint against Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor’s onetime boss doesn’t know much about what’s going on with him either.

On Sept. 12, the news broke that former UFC two-division champ McGregor (22-4) was arrested once again. McGregor was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted sexual assault and indecent exposure while he was on vacation in Corsica. The police released McGregor without charges and a spokesman for McGregor denied the accusations shortly afterward.

At the UFC Fight Night 177 post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White was asked if McGregor's current situation could prevent the superstar Irishman’s hypothetical return to the cage.

"I don't know enough about the Conor situation," he said. "I know what you've read. I've read the same things. Conor is retired. I haven't talked to him. I'm sure he doesn't need my help or advice, but if he did, he can call."

The UFC President went on to draw a comparison between McGregor and fellow multidivisional champion Henry Cejudo, teasing that they might fight one day if they wanted to. The last time he competed, at UFC 246 in January, McGregor smashed Donald Cerrone on the way to a first-round TKO victory.

"Cejudo has got a lot in the gas tank, too," he added. "He could definitely fight again. But I think when you have a guy like Conor and Cejudo that have done it for a long time and cut weight, dieting, all the bulls**t you go through and then you make a lot of money, you just don't feel like doing it anymore. A lot of people don't think Conor's really done."

If confirmed, the arrest in Corsica would be just the latest in a long series of public incidents in which McGregor has been involved, including smashing the phone of a fan who was trying to take a photo of him last March and an altercation with a man in a pub last August.
