It looks like the Ultimate Fighting Championship will be able to set up shop at home for its next event.

According to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, UFC Fight Night 172 will take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on May 30. The promotion was considering Arizona, which had opened its state to professional sports organizations, as an alternative if Las Vegas was not available.

“We are a go on the 30th,” UFC president told the Review-Journal in a text message early Wednesday morning.

UFC Fight Night 172 is expected to be headlined by a welterweight clash between Tyron Woodley and Gilbert Burns. The card currently has only three other reported bouts — Blagoy Ivanov vs. Augusto Sakai, Jamahal Hill vs. Klidson Abreu and Mackenzie Dern vs. Hannah Cifers — but is likely to fill out more in the coming days. The event would be held without fans in attendance.

Beyond that, UFC 250 is scheduled for June 6. It is likely that pay-per-view card, which is held by a women’s featherweight title tilt between Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer, will also be held at the UFC Apex.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission suspended all combat sports events due to concerns regarding the coronavirus pandemic in an emergency meeting on March 14 and has not met since. According to the Review-Journal, Gov. Steve Sisolak has not made any formal announcement regarding the return of professional sports in Nevada.

The UFC is coming off a week in which it held events on May 9, 13 and 16 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to the first of those cards, Ronaldo Souza and two of his cornermen tested posted for coronavirus. They were put in isolation and Souza’s bout with Uriah Hall was canceled. White declared the endeavor a success but has also said that safety procedures will be more effective at the promotion’s own facility in Las Vegas.

“It makes more sense with what’s going on for us to be doing the events at our own arena,” he said at a press conference in Jacksonville. “It will be a lot safer for my employees, the fighters, everyone.”
