Billy Quarantillo (146) vs. Kamuela Kirk (145)

Round 1

Quarantillo comes out moving forward and lands a couple low kicks before Kirk responds with a takedown. Kirk passes from guard nearly to mount, and Quarantillo gives up his back. Quarantillo scrambles out of the predicament, but Kirk floats on top of his foe, passing from side control back to mount. Quarantillo gives up his back again, and Kirk lands some punches with both hooks in. Kirk is a little high, but he manages to keep his hooks in as Quarantillo stands and then goes back to the floor. They’re not seated against the fence, with Kirk still on his opponent’s back. Finally, the “TUF 22” alum stands and forces Kirk to slide off the top. Quarantillo lands some ground-and-pound before the featherweights stand with about 90 seconds left. Quarantillo forces the clinch and lands a knee before grabbing a single-leg. Quarantillo drops low and absorbs some elbows to the side of the head. Quarantillo relents and lands a body kick. Kirk gets top position in a scramble and ends the round landing punches from above.

Round 2

Quarantillo pressures again and Kirk attempts a flying knee. Quarantillo answers with a counter right. They’re trading now, with Quarantillo working the body and head with punches. Kirk lands a combination upstairs. Quarantillo digs to the body with a right hook. Kirk steps in with a knee to the body. Quarantillo walks forward, mixing up powerful punches to the head and body. Quarantillo punctuates a combination with an overhand right. The pressure is relentless from the “TUF 22” alum. Quarantillo defends a takedown attempt and continues to stalk his foe. More quality work alternating to the head and body from Quarantillo. They tie up against the fence briefly, then separate. Kirk tries to counter the forward movement with a knee, but Quarantillo is able to separate and go back on the attack. Quarantillo stuffs a shot in the middle of the cage. He marches forward, landing punches. Quarantillo is mixing up punches to the head and body and then following up with knees to the body. Kirk is really starting to take more punishment in the clinch now, too. This is one-way traffic with 1:00 to go. Quarantillo lands a hook to the body followed by a combination to the head. Kirk is bleeding from all the punishment he’s absorbed. Quarantillo ends the round just unloading with knees, uppercuts and heavy punches to the head. Somehow, Kirk makes it to the horn.

Round 3

Quarantillo runs across the cage to meet his foe, where he clinches and immediately attacks with knees and big right hands to the body. Kirk attempts to break away, but Quarantillo just drives him to the other side of the cage. Herb Dean is watching this closely. Quarantillo is showing complete disdain for Kirk at this point, and he lands three more right hands — all with full power — and Kirk still has no answer for the barrage . Dean has seen enough. Quarantillo has his fifth consecutive triumph.

Jamahal Hill (204.5) vs. Alexander Poppeck (204)

Round 1

Both men trade low kicks before Hill connects with a straight left hand. Moments later, a kick from Hill goes low and the action is halted to give Poppeck some time to recover. The fight resumes and Poppeck misses a high kick. Poppeck comes up just short on a combination, but lands a body kick. Hill answers with a powerful high kick, but it’s partially blocked HIll comes right back with a body kick, and that seems to slow Poppeck somewhat. Poppeck decides to change levels and shoot for a takedown. They clinch for a few moments before separating and Poppeck blocks another high kick, but the impact still resonates. A left lands for Poppeck and Hill responds with a knee to the body. A straight left finds its way through for Hill. Poppeck lands a body kick. Hill shakes it off and returns fire with a kick of his own. Another snapping body kick for Poppeck and another shake of the head from Hill. Poppeck steps in and times a straight left off a Hill kick. Hill has another high kick blocked. They briefly trade before the horn.

Round 2

Hill follows a punching combination with a body kick. Hill blitzes with another combination. Poppeck changes levels but Hill defends and turns his man into the fence. Hill lands some knees in the clinch. Hill works the body in close quarters. A knee to the midsection lands, and Poppeck’s call for a low blow is denied by referee Mark Smith. Hill seems to be loosening up with his punching combinations. Hill backs his foe up with a knee and an uppercut. Hill with another high kick that Poppeck blocks. A straight left to the body draws a wince from Poppeck, and Hill presses the action, landing knees to the clinch. He creates space and lands some elbows upstairs. They separate and Poppeck is on the retreat. Hill maintains forward pressure, and tags Poppeck with a punching combination. Poppeck looks for a takedown, but Hill sprawls. Hill lands a knee to the head and then another knee to the body. Poppeck is reeling as Hill batters him with more knees. Poppeck goes for a desperation takedown, clinging to a leg. Hill easily defends and unloads a brutal knee to the body. With Poppeck seated against the fence now, Hill steps into top position and blasts his adversary with heavy punches from above. Poppeck just covers up until Smith steps in to wave off the contest.

Christian Lohsen (155.5) vs. J.J. Okanovich (155)

Round 1

Lohsen just misses on a high kick. Okanovich pressures with punches and forces the clinch. Lohnsen pushes his foe into the fence and looks to execute a throw off the cage. Okanovich defends and turns Lohsen into the fence. Lohsen uses a trip to get Okanovich to the canvas and lands in side control. Okanovich recovers half guard, and Lohsen drops a short elbow before looking for a brabo choke. It’s not completely secure, but Lohsen steps over into full mount and the choke appears to be tight. Okanovich fights it off and Lohsen goes to his back, transitioning to a triangle choke. Lohsen fires some elbows from his back. He looks to adjust and tighten the triangle with less than two minutes to go. They roll over and Lohsen has Okanovich mounted with the triangle. He lands some punches, but Okanovich is able to roll out of danger and scramble to top position. Now it’s Okanovich’s turn to land some ground-and-pound from top position. Okanovich ends the frame attacking with punches and elbows from above.

Round 2

Okanovich stalks Lohsen early, throwing heavy punches. he sticks Lohsen with a jab. Another jab clips Lohsen. Okanovich lands a short right in close quarters during an exchange. Lohsen moves forward and lands an uppercut. A right hand over the top connects for Okanovich in an exchange. Lohsen changes levels and Okanovich shucks off the attempt. Lohsen looks for a single-leg takedown, but Okanovich stuffs it without issue. Okanovich again stuffs a takedown from a tiring Lohsen. Back on the feet, Okanovich backs Lohsen into the fence and lands a right. Lohsen is throwing looping punches in return but not landing much of anything. Inside leg kick lands for Lohsen, but he gets stuck with a jab. Okanovich picks up the pace and tags Lohsen with more punches, forcing his foe to dive for a takedown. The American Kickboxing Academy product sprawls and lands a couple short punches. Lohsen reverses position and gets the back just as the horn sounds.

Round 3

Okanovich moves forward and tags Lohsen with some solid punches near the fence. A left lands for Lohsen, but it’s Okanovich pressing the action. Okanovich sprawls on a slow takedown try and continues Lohsen with a left moments later. A straight right from Okanovich snaps his foe’s head back. A jab connects for Okanovich. Another nice jab lands for Okanovich, who stuffs a takedown. Okanovich slips a punch and lands a combination, then tags Lohsen with a big right hand. Lohsen is just throwing looping punches as Okanovich works his way in, but he’s not landing with enough frequency. Okanovich blocks a high kick and backs Lohsen up with a jab. Okanovich sprawls on a takedown with about 1:00 left. Lohsen is still winging punches, but he looks exhausted. Okanovich presses forward and connects with another right hand. As time winds down, Okanovich stays on the attack until the horn.

Terrance McKinney (146) vs. Sean Woodson (146)

Round 1

McKinney lands a couple front kicks to the body, but Woodson answers with a powerful jab. McKinney shoots for a takedown and drives Woodson into the fence. McKinney struggles to get his lanky foe down, but he continues to apply pressure in the clinch. He lands a right hand on the break. McKinney is backed up by another hard jab. McKinney shoots again and this time is able to trip his foe down on the follow-up. McKinney has Woodson’s back and hunts for a rear-naked choke. He fires off a punch to the side of the head and re-adjusts for the choke. He doesn’t have the maneuver under the chin but he cranks on the neck before letting go. McKinney again hunts for a choke, but it’s not under the chin, and Woodson fights his opponent’s hands. McKinney has the body triangle secured and remains in control, although he has been unable to secure the choke. McKinney continues to threaten with the choke, but Woodson has done a good job of fighting off his adversary’s hands. Woodson is trapped, but he throws some punches over his shoulder that land. Still, this round was all McKinney.

Round 2

McKinney wastes no time shooting for a takedown, but Woodson defends. McKinney ducks under a punch and looks for a takedown. Woodson sprawls initially, but McKinney scrambles to his foe’s back. He secures the body triangle and is once again attached to Woodson’s back. Woodson is still doing his best to fight off McKinney’s hands, just as he did in Round 1. They’re in the center of the cage this time, but Woodson turns and explodes to his feet, just missing on a high kick. McKinney backs into the fence and then immediately ducks for another takedown. Woodson times a jumping left knee perfectly as McKinney dips his head. It lands flush and McKinney collapses to the canvas. Woodson knows it’s over, and he walks off without landing anything further. Woodson gets a big come-from-behind victory on five days’ notice.

Ramazan Kuramagomedov (185.5) vs. Jordan Williams (185)

Round 1

Kuramagomedov lands a body kick early and Williams moves forward with a one-two. The middleweights trade leg kicks. A jab connects for the Dagestani. A big kick lands to the chest for Kuramagomedov. They clinch and Kuramagomedov shoves his foe to the fence, landing a knee and an elbow before breaking. Williams finds the range on a left hand. Williams lands a low kick and a left. Kuramagomedov finds the range on a nice left during an exchange in the pocket. Williams staggers the Dagesani with a couple left hands. He recovers, and the middleweights continue to trade. Williams lands another solid left hand. Williams backs up his foe briefly with a couple jabs. Kuramagomedov falls on a kick and then shoots for a takedown against the fence. He lands a couple knees in the clinch before they separate. Wiliams works his jab, then moves forward with a combination. Kuramagomedov forces the clinch and drives his foe into the cage at the end of the period.

Round 2

Williams goes back to work with his jab and lands a combination behind it. Williams sticks another nice jab. Williams with an inside low kick. Kuramagomedov wobbles Williams with a low kick and then follows up with a beautiful flying knee. Williams eats it, but Kuramagomedov takes him down against the fence. Williams works his way back up. Herb Dean orders the fighters to work. Kuramagomedov tries to get anotehr takedown, but Williams explodes up. They separate. Both fighters using their jab well. Williams moves forward, landing a combination. A counter one-two connects for Kuramagomedov. Williams wades forward and tags Kuramagomedov with a left. The combatants continue to trade in the center of the Octagon, and both men are having their moments. Kuramagomedov lands a left in close and they clinch. Williams can’t quite get Kuramagomedov down. They continue to trade punches until the horn.

Round 3

Williams sticks his jab early. Kuramagomedov responds with a front kick to the body. The Dagestani makes Williams stumble with a low kick. Kuramagomedov lands an inside low kick. Williams moves forward behind his jab. Kuramagomedov steps in with a short elbow. Kuramagomedov lands a combination and then shoots for a takedown, driving Williams into the fence. Kuramagomedov lands an elbow on the break. Kuramagomedov backs Williams up with a couple solid lefts. Williams is undeterred and he lands a combination. Kuramagomedov is applying pressure and he forces the clinch, landing a knee to the body. Williams sprawls on a takedown and transitions to Kuramagomedov’s back. The Dagestani stands and they break. The middleweights are back at it trading in the center of the Octagon. We’ve got 60 seconds left, and they trade in close quarters. Kuramagomedov lands a left. Williams lands a heavy punch as Kuramagomedov throws a high kick. The Dagestani briefly falls to the canvas. Williams walks down Kuramagomedov, but the Dagestani counters effectively. As the fight draws to a close, both men are still swinging. It appears that Kuramagomedov has landed more effectively for most of the fight, but it’s very competitive. Both men continue to throw offense until the horn.
