Dana White’s Contender Series Weigh-in Results: Victor Reyna Comes in Seven Pounds Heavy
The bout order for the second card of Dana White’s Contender
Series’ third season has undergone some reshuffling after Victor
Reyna came in seven pounds overweight for his scheduled
welterweight clash with Miguel
Baeza.
Reyna, who accepted the bout on two weeks’ notice after Ramiz Brahimaj withdrew due to injury, tipped the scales at a whopping 178 pounds. Baeza, meanwhile, checked in at 169.5 pounds. Despite the disparity, Baeza accepted the bout. However, it has been moved from the featured position to the opening fight of the card, according to multiple reports.
Meanwhile, the other eight competitors slated for Tuesday’s card
hit their marks without issue. A light heavyweight tilt pitting
Alton
Cunningham (205) against Tony
Johnson (203) will likely serve as the evening’s new main
event.
