Danilo Marques Replaces Ryan Spann, Faces Myron Dennis in LFA 9 Main Event

By Mike Sloan Apr 5, 2017

The recently-formed Legacy Fighting Alliance promotion announced on Wednesday a new main event for LFA 9, which takes place April 14 at the FireLake Arena in Shawnee, Okla. Myron Dennis will now face Danilo Marques in a light heavyweight showdown.

Marques, a naïve of Sao Paulo, Brazil, has scored either a knockout or submission in every one of his wins. After being knocked out by Marcio Telles last summer in the Thunder Fight promotion, Marques stormed back with a second-round submission of Lorival Lourenco Jr. at Curitiba Top Fight 10 in February. Marques steps in on 10 days’ notice to fight TUF 23 veteran Dennis after original opponent Ryan Spann withdrew.

“LFA will feature another great prospect on our first trip to Oklahoma,” stated LFA CEO Ed Soares. “Oklahoma fight fans will see a great contrast in styles between two of the best finishers in the light heavyweight division.”

The LFA 9 co-feature will see Glory veteran Demoreo Dennis -- Myron Dennis’ older brother -- return to the MMA cage to take on the giant Don’Tale Mayes in a heavyweight encounter. The main card goes live on AXS-TV at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
