Davi Ramos vs. Nick Hein, Alberto Mina vs. Ramazan Emeev Set for UFC 224 in Brazil

UFC 224 has its first two bouts, as Davi Ramos will square off against Nick Hein at lightweight, while Alberto Mina will meet Ramazan Emeev at welterweight.

The matchups were announced during the UFC Fight Night 125 post-fight press conference on Saturday night. UFC 224 takes place on May 12 at Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Ramos went 1-1 in 2017, dropping a unanimous verdict against Sergio Moraes at UFC Fight Night 106 before submitting Chris Gruetzemacher with a rear-naked choke in the third round at UFC Fight Night 123. Hein, meanwhile, has won three straight fights in the Octagon but hasn’t competed since outpointing Tae Hyun Bang at UFC Fight Night 93 in September 2016.

The 35-year-old Mina owns a 13-0 professional mark that includes victories over Mike Pyle, Yoshihiro Akiyama and Shinsho Anzai in UFC competition. A native of Dagestan, Emeev made his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night 118, where he captured a decision over Sam Alvey.
