Deiveson Figueiredo Promises First-Round Finish Against Brandon Moreno at UFC 263

After retaining the flyweight belt with a majority draw against Brandon Morena at UFC 256 this past December, Deiveson Figueiredo promises a different ending to their rematch in the UFC 263 co-main event on Saturday.

Figueiredo’s first meeting with Moreno came just three weeks after he submitted Alex Perez in the UFC 255 headliner on Nov. 21. The 33-year-old Brazilian agreed to step in to save the UFC 256 headliner on short notice after the event lost two scheduled championship bouts. “Daico” was also hospitalized with a stomach infection the night before the fight.

"I reached flyweight twice in 20 days. The night before UFC 256 was a nightmare. It was a crazy attitude to accept a fight in such short notice but it was for a good cause and I don't repent myself for doing that,” Figueiredo told Sherdog.com.

“But now I´m 100 percent. Saturday the fans will see the real Deiveson in the Octagon and it´s time for Moreno to have his nightmare. I´ll beat him in the first round.”

Figueiredo also revealed that he was able to watch some film on Moreno during this camp, and that will allow him to make some adjustments when they square off against at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz., on Saturday night.

“Now I could watch his fights and study better his game. In the first fight, he was able to take me down, but it will not happen now. I´m bringing a much more versatile game and also some surprises to him. He will pay for all bullshit he said about me,” Figueiredo said.
