UFC veterans Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Alvarez have their next One Championship fights booked.
The two will once again compete on the same card at One “Dawn of Heroes” on Aug. 2 in Manilla, Philippines. The Singapore-based promotion announced the card on Monday.
Johnson will take on Tatsumitsu Wada in the semifinals of the One flyweight world grand prix. The former UFC champion got back into the win column last time out with a win over Yuya Wakamatsu by submission. If Johnson beats Wada he would advance to the finals to take on the winner of Danny Kingad vs. Kairat Akhmetov, where he would be fighting for the flyweight tittle.
Alvarez, meanwhile, is looking for his first win in One. The former UFC lightweight champion was knocked out by Timofey Nastyukhin in the first round in his debut. Now, “The Underground King” will take on former One lightweight champion Eduard Folayang, who lost his title in his last fight.
One “Dawn of Heroes” will take place in the Mall of Asia Arena in Manilla, Philippines on Aug. 2.
