A heavyweight showdown between Derrick Lewis and Blagoy Ivanov is nearly finalized for UFC 244 at Madison Square Garden.

ESPN.com was first to report the matchup. UFC 244 takes place on Nov. 2 in New York. Lewis fought on the promotion’s last card at MSG, losing to Daniel Cormier in a heavyweight tilt bout in the evening’s headliner.

Lewis is coming off a second-round technical knockout loss to Junior dos Santos at UFC Fight Night 148 on March 9. After the bout, “The Black Beast” underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. Lewis entered the matchup with dos Santos with a torn ACL from a previous fight and claims he felt the knee “go out on me” during the bout.

Ivanov, meanwhile, has posted back-to-back decision wins against Ben Rothwell and Tai Tuivasa after falling to dos Santos in his promotional debut. The former World Series of Fighting heavyweight champion has lost just twice in 21 professional outings.
