Devin Clark Not Impressed by Ryan Spann’s Last Win Over ‘Older, Slower’ Little Nog

Devin Clark is looking to extend his winning streak to two when he squares off against Ryan Spann at UFC Fight Night 161 in Tampa, Fla., on Saturday.

The 31-year-old is coming off of a decision win over Darko Stosic at UFC Fight Night 153 in Stockholm this past June. He did not the bout injury free, which is why he is only returning to the Octagon now.

“This is perfect, I hurt my shoulder a little bit in my last fight as I got slammed on my shoulder,” Clark said to Sherdog.com. “I had to rehab it a bit anyways. They actually tried to make this fight a month or so sooner in August. I wasn’t ready, so this is perfect timing.”

Anchored at Fortis MMA, Spann is coming off of a knockout win over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 237 on May 11. “Brown Bear” was not impressed with the victory, and he specifically asked for Spann as an opponent.

“We had our eye on him. His name came up and we said yes. His last win was a big win, but in my eyes, he was fighting an older, slower opponent that didn’t quite have it anymore,” he said. “I’m not taking anything from Ryan, he is a great fighter and I know what I can do and my movement and skills are better than ‘Lil Nog.’”

Clark believes he will extend his winning streak and begin his climb up the light heavyweight rankings. The Jackson-Wink MMA representative wouldn’t be surprised if he put Spann away early.

“I have prepared for three hard rounds and prepared to knock him out in 30 seconds,” he said. “I have just been honing on my skills and learning from my past fights. I can put anyone out, and if that doesn’t happen, I will grind him out.”
