Diego Brando has been temporarily suspended for a positive marijuana test at UFC 195.

The Brazilian featherweight tested positive for marijuana metabolites during an in-competition drug test prior to his third-round submission loss to Brian Ortega on Jan. 2 in Las Vegas. In competition is defined in Nevada as 12 hours before and after a fight. Marijuana use is not prohibited out of competition, according to WADA regulations.

Brandao’s results exceeded the WADA limit of 180 ng/ml and the NAC limit of 150 ng/ml. He will receive a full hearing and disciplinary action at a future NAC hearing.

UFC 195 took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and saw Robbie Lawler retain his welterweight crown with a split-decision triumph over Carlos Condit in the evening’s headliner. Brandao, the featherweight winner of “The Ultimate Fighter 18,” fell to 6-4 in the Octagon with his loss to Ortega.
