It turns out Dustin Poirier was right to turn down a short-notice bout with Norman Parke at UFC Fight Night in Dublin last weekend.
It was announced during “UFC Tonight” on Wednesday that Poirier will face originally scheduled foe Joseph Duffy in a lightweight contest at UFC 195. Duffy had to withdraw from last Saturday’s bout at the last minute after suffering a mild concussion in training.

Poirier is 2-0 since moving from featherweight to lightweight earlier this year. After knocking out Carlos Diego Ferreira in the first round at UFC Fight Night “Mendes vs. Lamas,” the American Top Team product stopped Yancy Medeiros via technical knockout in the first frame on June 6.
While Duffy is best known as the last man to defeat interim featherweight titlist Conor McGregor, the Ireland native has impressed in his first two Octagon appearances, knocking out Jake Lindsey at UFC 185 before submitting Ivan Jorge in his most recent outing at UFC Fight Night “Bisping vs. Leites.”
