One CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced the signing of the eight-time Ultimate Fighting Championship competitor on Friday night. UFC President Dana White recently confirmed that the Las Vegas-based promotion elected to let Northcutt go upon the completion of his most recent deal.

“We let Sage go,” White said on the “UFC Unfiltered” podcast. “Sage is young and Sage needs some work. So let him get some work in one of these other organizations and we’ll see where this kid ends up in a couple of years and maybe we’ll pick him back up again.”

That “other organization” will be the Singapore-based promotion One, which has landed a number of high-profile acquisitions in recent weeks including Demetrious Johnson, Eddie Alvarez and Yoshihiro Akiyama.

The 22-year-old Northcutt last appeared at UFC Fight Night 133, where he earned a second-round knockout victory against Zak Ottow on July 14. “Super” Sage went 6-2 over the course of a promotional tenure that began in October 2015 when he was just 19 years old.

“It’s an honor to be part of the One Championship family,” Nortchutt wrote on Twitter. “I’m looking forward to being a part of something great.”
