Erick Silva Signs Multi-Fight Deal With Bellator MMA

After only one fight under the Legacy Fighting Alliance banner, Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Erick Silva has now signed a multi-fight deal with Bellator MMA. The signing was revealed by his manager Rafael Cavalcante on Thursday, with Bellator officials also confirming the news.

The 34-year-old, known for his aggressive style, fought 15 times inside the Octagon with a record of seven wins and eight losses. His UFC career ended with back-to-back losses to Jordan Mein and Yancy Medeiros before he was cut by the promotion.

The UFC earmarked Silva as a potential future champion at the time of his signing back in 2011 as he entered the promotion having compiled a record of 12-1 and one no-contest, winning the Jungle Fight belt in the process.

Silva’s lone appearance for Legacy Fighting Alliance resulted in a first-round submission win over Nick Barnes at LFA 45. That performance showed enough for Bellator to extend the contract offer, and the Brazilian expected to make his debut in the promotion later this year.
