Eryk Anders, Gerald Meerschaert Set for UFC Fight Night 161 in Tampa

After a brief stint at light heavyweight, Eryk Anders will return to the middleweight division for his next bout. There, he will take on Gerald Meerschaert at UFC Fight Night 161 in Tampa, Florida, on Oct. 12. Sources confirmed the scrap with after an initial report from UFC Unfiltered.

Anders last fought back in June, when he knocked out Vinicius Moreira in the first round to snap his three-fight losing streak. Before that, he lost to Khalil Rountree Jr., Elias Theodorou and Thiago Santos. “Ya Boi” is currently 4-4 in the UFC and 3-2 at middleweight.

Meerschaert, meanwhile, also got back into the win column last time out as he submitted Trevin Giles in the third round at UFC on ESPN 5. The win improved his record to 29-11 and 5-3 inside the Octagon.

The two share a common opponent in Santos, with both losing by TKO. Advertisement
