Former lightweight champion Brent Primus will face Tim Wilde in the main event of the next installment of Bellator MMA’s European Series on May 4.

The pairing was announced during the Bellator “Newcastle” broadcast on Saturday. The event will take place in Birmingham, England, and will also feature middleweight Fabian Edwards, who earned a decision win over Lee Chadwick on Saturday. The upcoming card will likely be available for viewing in the United States on the Bellator Mobile App.

Primus began his professional tenure with eight consecutive wins, claiming the lightweight title in unlikely fashion when Michael Chandler suffered a leg injury in their matchup at Bellator 180. Primus dropped a five-round verdict to Chandler in their rematch at Bellator 212 on Dec. 14.

A 31-year-old native of England, Wilde has compiled a 12-3 mark over the course of a career that includes stints in Cage Warriors and the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts. “The Experiment” enters the matchup with Primus on a three-fight winning streak.
