Featherweights Makwan Amirkhani, Chris Fishgold to Clash at UFC Stockholm on June 1

Makwan Amirkhani will lock horns with Chris Fishgold at UFC Stockholm.

The promotion announced the featherweight pairing on Monday. UFC Stockholm takes place at Ericsson Globe Arena on June 1 and is headlined by a light heavyweight bout pitting Alexander Gustafsson against Anthony Smith. The card will stream on ESPN+.

Amirkhani, 30, has been victorious in four of his five Octagon appearances. Most recently, “Mr. Finland” took a split decision against Jason Knight at UFC Fight Night 130 last May. The SGB Ireland representative owns a 14-3 career mark, with nine triumphs coming by way of submission.

Fishgold, a former Cage Warriors champion, earned his first Octagon victory with a second-round submission of David Teymur at UFC Fight Night 145 on Feb. 23. The 26-year-old Liverpool native fell to Calvin Kattar via first-round TKO in his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night 138. Fishgold is 18-2-1 over the course of his professional tenure.
