Featherweights Swanson, Lamas Booked for UFC on Fox

World Extreme Cagefighting veterans Cub Swanson and Ricardo Lamas are set to tangle in November on the undercard of the inaugural UFC on Fox event.

Promotion officials announced Sunday that Swanson (Pictured) and Lamas have verbally agreed to the contest.

UFC on Fox 1 takes place Nov. 12 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. While the televised portion of the show will feature only one bout -- a heavyweight title fight between champion Cain Velasquez and challenger Junior dos Santos -- the event will feature a full set of prelims.

Swanson, 28, will make his UFC debut 366 days after he last saw action. Since closing out his WEC career in November 2010 with a split decision win over Mackens Semerzier, Swanson has twice been scheduled to face Erik Koch and has twice been forced to bow out due to injury. The Greg Jackson-trained fighter’s resume includes victories over current Dream featherweight champ Hiroyuki Takaya and “The Ultimate Fighter 14” cast member Micah Miller.

After a 4-2 WEC run at lightweight, Lamas made a successful transition to the UFC’s featherweight ranks in June, knocking out Matt Grice at UFC Live 4. During his time in the blue cage, the 29-year-old former collegiate wrestler notched wins against Bart Palaszewski, Bendy Casimir and James Krause.
