Flyweights Liz Carmouche, Roxanne Modafferi to Meet at UFC San Antonio on July 20

Liz Carmouche will square off against Roxanne Modafferi in a flyweight showdown at UFC San Antonio on July 20.

ESPN was first to report the booking. UFC Fight Night takes place in San Antonio, Texas at the AT&T Center. The card airs on ESPN following early prelims on ESPN+. A headliner for the event has not been revealed.

After moving from bantamweight to 125 pounds, Carmouche has earned back-to-back decision victories against Jennifer Maia and Lucie Pudilova. Carmouche, who challenged Ronda Rousey for the inaugural women’s bantamweight crown in the Octagon, has won four of her last UFC appearances overall.

Modafferi, meanwhile, has won two of three bouts since coming up short in a bid for the inaugural women’s flyweight strap against Nicco Montano at “The Ultimate Fighter 26” finale. Most recently, “The Happy Warrior” garnered a split verdict over Antonina Shevchenko at UFC St. Petersburg on April 20.
