Flyweights Patrick Holohan, Willie Gates to Clash at UFC Fight Night Rotterdam

A flyweight showdown between Patrick Holohan and Willie Gates has been added to the UFC Fight Night Rotterdam lineup.

The promotion’s European branch announced the matchup via Twitter on Friday. UFC Fight Night takes place at Ahoy Rotterdam in the Netherlands on May 8 and is headlined by a heavyweight tilt pitting Alistair Overeem against Andrei Arlovski.

Holohan went 2-1 in 2015, taking unanimous verdicts over Shane Howell and Vaughan Lee before falling to Louis Smolka via second-round submission at UFC Fight Night in Dublin last October. “The Hooligan” is 12-2-1 in his career, with eight wins by tapout.

Gates is 1-2 in the Octagon since making his debut in 2014. He earned his first promotional triumph over Darrell Montague at “The Ultimate Fighter 21” finale but was stopped by Dustin Ortiz in the third round at UFC Fight Night Nashville in his last appearance this past August.
