Former 205-Pound Champ Jon Jones Listed as Favorite in Potential Bout vs. Brock Lesnar

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has opened as a decent favorite against ex heavyweight king Brock Lesnar, according to online oddsmaker Bovada.

Jones is listed as the favorite at -350, while Lesnar checks in as a +265 underdog in the hypothetical contest, which would take place at heavyweight if booked. Recently, UFC president Dana White told TMZ Sports that both Jones and Lesnar were "very interested” in a potential fight against each other.

Both fighters must clear hurdles before making a UFC return, however. Jones is awaiting discipline from USADA after testing positive for the anabolic steroid Turinabol at UFC 214 last July, while Lesnar still must serve six months of a USADA suspension from a failed drug test at UFC 200 that was frozen after he announced his retirement from MMA. Lesnar is also still under WWE contract.

Meanwhile, undisputed welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has opened as a slight favorite in a matchup with interim 170-pound titlist Colby Covington, according to Bovada. Woodley is listed at -140, while Covington is +110.

Covington earned his shot at Woodley by taking a five-round verdict over Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 225 last Saturday to claim interim gold. Woodley hasn’t competed since outpointing Demian Maia at UFC 214, and it is currently unclear when the promotion plans to book a bout between the two welterweights.
