A lawsuit filed by the fighter’s former agent, the Ballengee Group, was dismissed in Dallas County District Court, as a judge claimed the case had no jurisdiction in the state. TMZ Sports was first to report the news.

"The Ccurt ruled the case should have not have been filed in Texas because Nate has not fought in Texas and dismissed the case," Jeremiah Reynolds, Diaz’s attorney, told TMZ Sports.

The Ballengee group was seeking more than $1 million for breach of contract after alleging that Diaz terminated his contract with the company without paying for services rendered.

The company claimed to have “advised and supported” Diaz ahead of bouts against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC on Fox 13 in December 2014 and against Michael Johnson at UFC on Fox 17 in December 2015.

Additionally, The Ballengee Group claims to have negotiated bout agreements for Diaz’s fights against Conor McGregor at UFC 196 and at UFC 200. After McGregor was pulled from UFC 200, Ballengee then attended negotiations in Stockton, Calif., in May 2016 to finalize a bout between Diaz and McGregor at UFC 202. However, Diaz terminated his contract with the company in July 2016.

While Diaz was victorious in Texas, the Ballengee Group could potentially file the lawsuit in another jurisdiction. Ballengee is based in the Lonestar State.

Diaz hasn’t fought since losing a majority decision to McGregor at UFC 202 in August 2016. However, the Stockton, Calif., native recently teased a comeback on social media, targeting a May or June Octagon return.
