Former ‘Cyborg’ Foe Jorina Baars to Face Anke Van Gestel at Bellator Kickboxing 7

Jorina Baars will lock horns with Anke Van Gestel in a 145-pound bout at Bellator Kickboxing 7.

A promotion official confirmed the pairing to Sherdog.com on Tuesday. Bellator Kickboxing 7 takes place at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., on Sept. 23 in conjunction with Bellator 183. However, while Bellator 183 will air live on Spike that day, Bellator Kickboxing 7 will be broadcast via tape delay following Bellator 184 on Oct. 6.

Bellator Kickboxing 7 is headlined by a welterweight title bout between reigning champion Karim Ghajji (97-13-1) and Raymond Daniels (11-3) and will also see Kevin Ross (44-11) meet Domenico Lomourno (22-8) for the inaugural featherweight championship.

A native of the Netherlands, Baars has competed in kickboxing and muay Thai as a professional since 2004. She has amassed a 41-0-3 mark that includes a decision win over Irene Martens at a Bellator Kickboxing event in Hungary on Sept. 2. Baars, who owns a 1-3 record in mixed martial arts, also notably took a five-round verdict over current UFC women’s featherweight champion Cristiane Justino a Lion Fight 14 in March 2014.

Van Gestel, 23, is a native of Merchtem, Belgium, and owns a 34-11-3 kickboxing record since November 2010.
