Tate announced her pregnancy via Instagram, revealing that she will be having a girl. “Cupcake” posted a collage of pictures that included an ultrasound as well as her with partner Jonathan Nunez, who competed on Season 22 of “The Ultimate Fighter.”
“I’m proud to announce we are expecting a beautiful baby girl,” Tate wrote. “Now you can sit and speculate... or you can just be happy for us. I’d like to ask that everyone respect the fact that (like we have been) we would like to continue to live our private lives primarily out of the media. I won’t comment on specifics so just know that I am very happy, very excited and my life has never felt so complete.”
Tate last appeared at UFC 205 in November 2016, where she lost a unanimous decision to Raquel Pennington at Madison Square Garden in New York. She announced her retirement following the defeat. Tate captured 135-pound titles in both the UFC and Strikeforce and compiled an 18-7 mark over the course of her MMA career.
