Former UFC Middleweight Title Challenger Yushin Okami Signs with WSOF

It didn’t take long for Yushin Okami to find a new home.

The 18-time UFC veteran has inked a deal with the Las Vegas-based World Series of Fighting. The news was first reported by on Sunday, and promotion head Ray Sefo later confirmed the signing via Twitter.

Okami last fought on Sept. 4, when he was knocked out by former Strikeforce titlist Ronaldo Souza at UFC Fight Night 28. Okami joined the UFC in 2006 and posted a 13-5 record with the Las Vegas-based organization, notching notable triumphs over the likes of Nate Marquardt, Evan Tanner, Mark Munoz, Hector Lombard and Alan Belcher (twice). He challenged for the 185-pound title at UFC 134, falling to Anderson Silva via second-round TKO.
