Edgar was supposed to make his 135-pound debut against Cory Sandhagen in January, but “The Answer” instead took a short-notice featherweight bout against Chan Sung Jung at UFC Fight Night 165, where he suffered a first-round technical knockout loss on Dec. 21. As a result, Edgar was unable to take the fight against Sandhagen. The Toms River, N.J., native has challenged is a former UFC lightweight champion and a three-time challenger for featherweight gold.
Munhoz, meanwhile, saw a three-fight winning streak come to an end at UFC 238, where he dropped a unanimous verdict against Aljamain Sterling. “The Young Punisher” has won seven of his last nine Octagon appearances dating back to 2016, a streak that includes wins over Cody Garbrandt, Rob Font and Bryan Caraway.
