Fujii-Frausto Official for Bellator Title Bout

Bellator Fighting Championships confirmed Wednesday that Megumi
Fujii will face Zoila
Frausto to crown the promotion’s inaugural women's 115-pound
champion. The bout will take place on Oct. 28 at the Seminole Hard
Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
Fujii was a lock for the title bout following her first-round armbar victory over Lisa Ward in the tournament semifinals on Sept. 30. However, Frausto’s participation was not entirely guaranteed.
The “Warrior Princess” sustained significant damage to her nose and mouth in a highly controversial split decision win over Jessica Aguilar on Sept. 30, and could have been kept out of the final if served with a 30-day medical suspension by the Louisiana State Boxing and Wrestling Commission.
Aguilar had been justly tabbed as a replacement for Frausto, and is still expected to face an as-yet-unannounced opponent on Oct. 28.
Also set for the card is a middleweight title bout between reigning champion Hector Lombard and season two tournament winner Alexander Shlemenko, Lombard’s first title defense since winning the belt 16 months ago.
