Georges St. Pierre Opens as Slight Favorite in Potential Bouts vs. Conor McGregor, Robert Whittaker

Newly-crowned middleweight Georges St. Pierre has a number of intriguing options for his next UFC fight, and “Rush” is already a slight betting favorite against two potential foes.

According to odds released by online sports book Bovada, St. Pierre is at -150 against UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor (+120). St. Pierre added muscle to move up to 185 pounds to face Michael Bisping at UFC 217 this past Saturday, but a hypothetical matchup with McGregor would almost certainly take place at welterweight.

McGregor has competed twice at welterweight during his UFC tenure, splitting a pair of bouts with Nate Diaz in 2016. He has been rumored to be in negotiations for a lightweight championship unification bout against Tony Ferguson. St. Pierre, of course, was a dominant welterweight champion before vacating the title and taking a four-year hiatus in 2013.

Another option for St. Pierre is a clash with interim middleweight king Robert Whittaker. The Tristar Gym product is listed at -160 in that bout, while Whittaker comes in at +130. At the conclusion of UFC 217, UFC President Dana White said that St. Pierre would remain at 185 pounds and face Whittaker in a future bout.

Meanwhile, T.J. Dillashaw called out Demetrious Johnson after becoming a two-time bantamweight champion with a second-round TKO of Cody Garbrandt in the UFC 217 co-headliner. Dillashaw has said that he can make the 125-pound limit to challenge for Johnson’s flyweight belt. Dillashaw has opened as a +160 underdog against “Mighty Mouse,” who is listed at -200.
