“When I got the call about the tournament, they kind of put it out there that no one wants to fight A.J. and wanted to see if I was interested,” Karakhanyan said to Sherdog.com. “I said f—k yeah. I am always down and I asked for this fight.”
Although McKee is undefeated, Karakhanyan questions the level of competition he has faced. “Insane” knows he is a tough fight for anyone, especially a young fighter like McKee.
“We will find out,” Karakhanyan said. "He hasn’t fought me before. I just think I am a different type of fighter and will bring it to him. I don’t think he will be able to keep up.”
In the end, Karakhanyan is confident that he can put McKee away inside the distance.
“I am going for a finish. I envision myself knocking him out or submitting him. I’m going to make this dude fight, and not going to wait on him. I’m looking to go out there and knock him out,” he said.
