For the second time in as many fights, Gilbert Burns will step as a replacement opponent on short notice.

The Brazilian known as “Durinho” will meet Gunnar Nelson in the UFC Copenhagen co-main event after Thiago Alves was forced to withdraw from the contest due to injury. Combate was first to report the new welterweight bout.

UFC Fight Night 160 takes place at Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Sept. 28 and is headlined by a middleweight clash pitting Jack Hermansson against Jared Cannonier. The card will stream on ESPN+.

Last month, Burns replaced Laureano Starpoli at UFC Uruguay and defeated Alexey Kunchenko by unanimous decision. The 33-year-old Hard Knocks 365 representative has won five of his last six Octagon appearances.

Nelson, meanwhile, has lost two of his last three bouts and is coming off a split-decision setback against Leon Edwards at UFC London this past March. The Iceland native is 8-4 in the UFC and 17-4-1 as a professional overall.
