Gleison Tibau Believes KSW Double Champ Roberto Soldic Will ‘Shock the World’ in UFC

Gleison Tibau, wrestling and jiu-jitsu coach of KSW double champion Roberto Soldic, is impressed by the potential of the Croatian fighter.

"His power is not normal. The only fighter I faced with similar power was Khabib [Nurmagomedov], but his strength was for grappling and throws. Soldic has similar power but for striking,” Tibau told Sherdog.com. “I´ve already trained with Colby [Covington], [Robbie] Lawler and many other top fighters from the UFC, and I´ve never seen anything like this. Everytime I train with him I need two days to recover.”

Soldic became a two-division champion this past Saturday, when he knocked out Mamed Khalidov in the second round to capture middleweight gold in the KSW 65 headliner. Soldic was already the Polish promotion’s welterweight title holder. According to Tibau, Soldic’s feat will attract attention from the world’s largest MMA organizations.

"Soldic has one more fight in KSW ,and if KSW doesn't make an excellent proposal to renew his contract, he must go to the UFC,” Tibau said.

Tibau is confident that if Soldic were to sign with the Las Vegas-based promotion, he has the necessary skills to be a contender.

“We started to train together two years ago when he was going to face a Russian southpaw wrestler in KSW and his manager, Ivan, brought me in to help,” Tibau said. “Since then, it's really impressive how he evolved his wrestling and ground skills. Today he is a complete fighter.”

NOw, Tibau is one of the trainers at UFD gym and considers Soldic to be one of his best friends.

"I told him, people dont see KSW in the United States. When you come to UFC, you will shock the world,” Tibau said. “Any human being who exchanges punches with this man will fall. His power is abnormal.”

Tibau, meanwhile, plans on pursuing his own championship dreams with Professional Fighters League for the 2022 season, which begins in the spring. He’ll have Soldic in his camp as he prepares for a run at the promotion’s $1 million prize.

"My first fight will be in April. Now it's time for Soldic to come here to Florida and help me,” Tibau siad. “With all the support I have in ATT plus Roberto’a striking support, I´ll be in my best shape to get the 2022 title.”
